Introduce yourself! Who are you?
My name is Nikki Starr Noce. I am an M.D. turned transformational life coach, spiritual healer and entrepreneur. By the time I was 25 I touched every continent except Antarctica. I am currently based in Malibu, Los Angeles and work with people worldwide in personal development and conscious living. I love Nature. Relationships and love are my favorite topics to share about. My dream is to be fully supported and thriving through my writing about spiritual and personal development topics and am working on several books at the moment.
What are your biggest passions?
My biggest passion is personal development, healing and transformation. This is why my work doesn’t feel like work. I am passionate about being the best I can be and I am passionate about supporting others through their process of growth and transformation as well. Ultimately it’s about making the world a better place. I am an optimist and truly believe we can co-create a Utopia here on Earth.
Why did you start your company?
Veering from Western Medicine to becoming an entrepreneur in the healing arts happened organically. I truly believe in living my truth, living life guided by my heart. For me transitioning to holistic wellness and healing was more in alignment with my ideals and lifestyle as I continued on a spiritual path. Being a meditation teacher, life coach, energy healer and supporting people in transforming into their best selves is who I am and thus working in this way seemed like the natural next step. I also believe in doing what I love and this is the exact work I love doing because it’s just being who I am. It comes so easily and naturally and I’m passionate about it!
Co-Founding Ravela, our organic clothing line, was also something that just felt right. I believe in conscious living and conscious products. Synthetic clothes are polluting our planet. Fast fashion is enslaving people. Ravela was a solution to the huge problems the fashion industry is facing. At Ravela we use all natural fibers like organic cotton and our clothes are handmade in small batches by a small group of artisans. The closer we stay to Nature the better for us and our planet.
Were you scared to start your business?
Looking back I don’t think I was ever scared because both businesses happened organically. When we live the moment and see opportunities that are presenting to us and take advantage of them by saying yes, there is nothing to fear. For me, I always feel it’s better to give something a try and have an experience because either way we will learn something. Thankfully I’ve never been scared because I see things from this perspective.
Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration in love and Nature. For me, loving relationships evoke some of the greatest inspiration to share from my heart. Many of my quotes are inspired by loving relationships in my life. Love is like a natural caffeine. Nature is another big inspirer for me. Anytime I take a break and go to Nature, after a while I can’t help but want to write and think of such great ideas for ways to share my my gifts with the world.
What do you do on a daily basis to grow and move forward?
I am very big into self care. I love taking care of myself. I receive two body sessions per week that also offer me the space to heal. I also move my body through a dance, yoga or pilates reformer class three times a week. I live on the beach in Malibu so I take time off at sunset up just enjoy and watch it. I walk on the beach several times per week, time in Nature is SO important. I take a salt baths regularly to clear any energies that aren’t serving me. I breathe deeply and meditate once a day. I write down 3 things I am grateful for everyday and why I am grateful for them. I also eat super clean and healthy. My relationships serve as an opportunity to learn more about myself and grow and evolve. I also feel the writings I offer to others through my instagram are teachings and lessons for me as well.
Do you have a mentor? If so, what did they teach you?
I do have a spiritual godmother, as I like to call her, who lives in Italy and some of the greatest things she reminds me of is that anytime we feel challenges it’s like the spiritual “gym” where we are building emotional and spiritual muscles that makes us wiser. She also reminds me often that I came to this planet with a mission to help humankind evolve. Remembering this makes the little challenges seem so miniscule in the grand scheme of the Universe and much easier to let go and see things with eyes of compassion.
How do you manage your work-life balance?
As an entrepreneur, there have been many weeks where I didn’t have one day off. Now I do my best to create space for at least one or two days. Learning to say NO is a big part of managing work-life balance. I also think it’s super important to digital detox for at least a half day twice a week. I schedule in self care just like I schedule in client sessions and work appointments. I also schedule in time to see friends. When there is something that excites me, I say yes. When friends reach out to connect I say yes and make the time because for me relationships are just as important as my work–they inspire me! I’ve learned over the years that taking time off and relaxing is equally important, if not more important than the work itself because this is the space that new ideas and inspiration come in. And anytime I notice fatigue or feeling burnt out approaching. I stop everything, put my phone aside and do nothing until I feel inspired to get back to work.
Have you ever had anyone doubt you? How did that make you feel?
I’m reminded of this one time I was hiking the rocks in Joshua Tree National Park with a friend and we cornered ourselves into a tricky rock formation that appeared really challenging to climb. I was leading and he was ready to turn back. I could sense his doubt and that inspired me even more to show that it was possible and indeed it was! I climbed up those rocks to his surprise and it felt really good to show that it was possible. I’ve noticed I tend to like a good challenge because it feels really good when I overcome it and show others that it is possible. I truly believe anything we put our minds to is possible if we are determined and disciplined enough to stay the course to the finish line.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned along the way?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is to follow my heart and my truth no matter what other people think or say. And NEVER settle. So many times I’ve taken great leaps and ventured off on my own path despite others not agreeing or thinking I was crazy. Even moving into my dream Malibu beach home happened because I didn’t settle in the home I was previously in. The truth is I’ve lived an amazing life because I will settle for nothing less than what I desire. I continue to grow and evolve and make changes within myself and my life and this will continue for the rest of my life. In my opinion the only constant is change. My definition of happiness is living in alignment with our hearts. Naturally as we grow and evolve so do our dreams and desires, but as long as we are acting in alignment with what our heart desires we will be happy. Our happiness depends on us no one else can make us happy. It’s about knowing what what we want in life and creating it! We have that power.
