Life Is Meant To Be Enjoyed

with Stephanie Stock

Introduce yourself! Who are you?
Hi! I’m Steph. I’m a people person and public speaker that thrives on meeting new people and connecting to their stories. My most recent accomplishment was hosting the Girlboss Rally in LA and that gave me the opportunity to connect with 2,000 ambitious women from around the world.
What would you say to 16 year old you?
Have fun! This life is meant to be enjoyed and you don’t have to be sooo serious to be “successful.”
What is your greatest fear?
My biggest fear is becoming that person with a ton of potential that doesn’t use it. I don’t ever want to be that firework that’s full of dynamite and never gets lit up. So, I fire on all engines because I know all it takes is one spark to ignite the light that will allow me to shine.
What message do you think every woman should hear?
You are capable. There’s too much messaging out there that tells us we are lacking or the odds are stacked against us. We’re so powerful and that’s what I want women to focus on. We’re capable of all things.
Have you always had confidence in yourself?
I’ve always had faith and that’s what carries me through. Of course, I have my moments where I think I’m batting above average and in those moments it’s preparation and my faith in the fact that the opportunities I have are meant for me that give me confidence.
What is your favorite thing about where you live?
LA is an interesting city, I’ve actually only lived here for a year and a half. It’s been an adjustment but what I love about this place is the opportunity. You can do whatever and be whoever you want to be here and I think that’s pretty special.
What do you love most about yourself?
My presence. It’s my special power. When I enter a room whether it’s a networking event or a dinner party or anything in between I make it my mission to make real connections. Every single person I speak with is special to me and I want them to know that and feel that way about themselves.
Do you remember a specific time you overcame adversity?
There are many times and I’m grateful for all of them. I’ve bounced back stronger and with more perspective and it gives me empathy when I speak with others. I think overcoming adversity creates a sort of tool box and when we heal we can take a step back and look at the tools we’ve gained and then figure out how to use them.
How do you manage your work-life balance?
I wish it were called a work-life juggle because that’s really what it is. I haven’t mastered the juggle but I relish the moments when I can rejuvenate. Sometimes you need a little down time to feel uplifted.
What is your favorite meal?
French Fries. That’s not even a meal but eating French Fries can change my whole mood.
What do you do on a daily basis to grow and move forward?
Pray. That may be controversial but it’s my meditation and it allows me to be grateful for what I have and intentional about what I want to manifest.
Did you always know what you wanted to do as a career?
I’m still figuring it out and I think a lot of others are too. I realize that the job I could ultimately end up with might not even exist yet, but I know what I’m interested in and I know what my strengths are and that sense of awareness is more powerful and purposeful than any label or job title.
Were you scared to start the process?
I didn’t know how to start, if I had I probably would’ve had more fear because I would’ve tried to predict the outcome of each action  and decision I made. Instead, I lean into the fact that I know what I want to be doing and I focus on building the skills that will allow me to do that thing more often and I dedicate time to the things that put me in a position to seize more opportunities.
