Introduce yourself! Who are you?
My name is Katie Schuppler and I am the Owner and Personal Style Consultant for my business KS Style Consulting in Chicago. I am also the girl behind my blog, The Freckled Stylist and a Beauty and Style Writer for Chicago Woman Magazine.

What would you say to 16 year old you?
First, I would say that life is going to get so much better than this and if you knew how it would turn out it’s the things you have dreamt about for so long. Get rid of the toxic people and quality is way more important than quantity in friends.

What’s your dream job?
My Style Consulting business 🙂

What message do you think every woman should hear?
Women can to anything and more than they think they can do! Never let anyone else set your limits in anyway in life and if they try then let that be your ammo to succeed and work even harder.

What is your favorite thing about where you live?
Chicago to me is the best city in the world. I love the people, the shopping, the lake, the neighborhoods, and of course the amazing food!

What do you do on a daily basis to grow and move forward?
I am always researching ways to grow my online presence with my website, blog, and social media and always being on the front of the upcoming trends in fashion.

What is one thing people would be surprised to hear about you?
With my business I am very much and extrovert, but in everyday life I am more of an introvert. I like my alone time and just time to hang with myself and my dog while we watch reality TV together.

What is something on your bucket list?
To travel the world in my lifetime.

What are your biggest passions?
I have a few, but the top passions I would say are my business and my relationships with my clients to make them feel the best I can in the way they dress. Working out is a huge passion of mine and way to deal with stress! And the last passion is my relationships with my friends and family, I can get really busy and travel a lot but I try my best to see the ones I care most about when I can.

What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
I always wanted to have something of my own and make a difference in some way in my own business. I grew up in an entrepreneurial family all of my life so that really was inspirational to me to go out and do it on my own.

How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
I think that looking back at past years is a great way to keep you going! You can see what life was like before and how far you have come to show you what you have accomplished in order to help you push forward to even better things.

How did you come up with the idea?
I actually wanted to own my own boutique back in the day and realized that I wanted and needed more activity and an “on-the-go” type of life. After seeing a major idol of mine, Rachel Zoe on her TV show I thought, why can’t I do this with every day people in the midwest? I have learned a lot over the past 7 years and am constantly changing my marketing approaches, styling packages, and pricing to cater to my clients from what I learn by trial and error.

How many days do you work per week?
My work hours are never really set and can be quite scattered and random. I work a ton of nights and weekends since that is when most people aren’t working. I drive in and around the city even all the way to some places in Michigan and Wisconsin so the drive times can take up a bunch of my day depending on traffic and client appointments.

Where do you plan on taking your business?
I plan to continue to grow my clientele list that thankfully has been expanding each year! Growing my social media outlets and building more and more relationships with other Chicago business owners to help support one another in our community.
