Introduce yourself! Who are you?
My name is Connie Chan. I'm a photographer and content creator specialising in flatlay and product photography for boutique brands.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Done is better than perfect.

What would you say to 16 year old you?
If you're going to be a photographer, you must always be shooting.

What message do you think every woman should hear?
Live your life as though your worth isn't found in your looks or your age. Believe that it's true.

What is your favorite thing about where you live?
I love living in the Northern Beaches of Sydney. The beaches and parks are stunning, the cafes are top notch, and the place has a real sense of community.

What do you love most about yourself?
I love that I have faith in myself and that I found that faith at a pretty young age.

What do you do on a daily basis to grow and move forward?
I spend time reflecting on my actions and reactions everyday in order to better understand myself. It's important for me to always know myself, my motivations, and my goals, and it's important for me to keep examining them in case they change.

What is something on your bucket list?
Swimming with whale sharks at Ningaloo Reef

What are your biggest passions?
Travel, especially to places that are changing because I'm fascinated by how they transform over time. I also prefer to travel slowly if I can help it. I think it's more rewarding to spend time getting to know a place instead of racing around ticking items off a list.

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Focus on developing your strengths and stop trying to be good at everything. If you spread yourself too thin you end up being mediocre at everything and excellent at nothing. Find ways to work around your weaknesses like outsourcing your admin or charging more so you have fewer clients to juggle.

How do you achieve work-life balance?
My husband and I believe that time is often more valuable than money. We try to spend our time only doing what we truly want to do such as our work or quality time together. This means that we're happy to spend money hiring a cleaner, eating out instead of cooking, and paying delivery fees if it means we gain time for ourselves.
