Follow Your Own Inner Compass
Martha Eleftheriou
Introduce yourself! Who are you?
Iโm Martha Eleftheriou an eternal soul seeker, inspirational motivator, personal support and empowerment coach, and spiritual teacher! Or, womenโs empowerment and spiritual life coach!
Did you always know what you wanted to do as a career?
Yes, I knew I wanted to teach, support, motivate and inspire people to love their lives.
When I was in grade 4, a guidance counselor gave us an assignment titled, โme, myself and Iโ and I thought this was the most brilliant assignment I had ever seen! I guess being a personal empowerment coach and mentor has been with me ever since!
Were you scared to start the process?
Absolutely! I had a stable career in teaching. Over the years, I realized public school teaching was no longer for me and I began the process of getting my certification in life coaching, reiki healing and yoga teacher training.ย These were the top 3 modalities that helped me create a life I loved to live, heal from childhood abuse, leave a controlling, male-dominated religion, and find my own version of spirituality in the most aligned and empowered way for myself!
What is one thing no one really knows about you?
That I was raised in an extremely controlling religion where women have no say and have to wear skirts!
Also, I can sing!
Whatโs the best advice youโve ever received?
To always be myself and to follow my own inner compass. That I know the way and whatโs best for me!
What would you say to 16 year old you?
Donโt worry so much about what youโre going to do in this life, do what lights you up, what excites you the most, and trust yourself and your opinions more than anyone elseโs!
Have you ever had anyone doubt you? How did that make you feel?
Yes! Being doubted by people who love you is not a good feeling. It erodes your self-esteem. The good part about that feeling for me is that I used that as fuel to recharge myself, and to become the best version of myself every day through self-love, a spiritual practice, positive affirmations, and helping others change their lives!
What message do you think every woman should hear?
Every woman needs to know that she has everything she needs inside of her! No one and no thing can complete her! She is already complete and whole!
Have you always had confidence in yourself?
Yes and no. I always knew I was an inspirational and positive motivator. In high school, I used to give my best friend boy advice every day after school and I loved it! But I doubted myself and my abilities as a teacher and as a healer and coach. I secretly worried if I knew enough, if I were smart enough, and if I was basically enough in general. As I child, I was not only physically abused, but I was silenced and told to โshut up little girlโ on a regular basis. This made me feel unworthy. Once I began a regular spiritual practice and worked with coaches and healers, I came to understand and truly believe in my inherent worth and that I was always enough all along.
What do you love most about yourself?
My heart and positive spirit. When I say my heart, I mean I let my heart guide me to love and support myself and others for who they are. I also love my positive spirit. No matter how terrible a situation may be, I can see the upside to it and learn valuable lessons through the pain.
Do you remember a specific time you overcame adversity?
So many, but one more recent experience I will share is when I went through secondary infertility. My husband and I had been trying to conceive for 3 years unsuccessfully. After a number of tests, we were told that we had secondary infertility and the only way to get pregnant would be through IVF. I was very afraid of going through such a procedure, but I decided to trust in the universe every step of the way, commit to my daily meditation practice, love myself even more and trust that all would work out exactly as I had envisioned. After 1 round of IVF, I got pregnant with my second daughter! The process unfolded exactly as I had envisioned it! I realized that I am the co-creator of my life and that whatever we focus on with passion, inspired action and trust in something greater than ourselves, will bring about our deepest desires!

What is the biggest lesson youโve learned along the way?
That I am never alone. Even though sometimes, we all feel lonely, Iโve learned that we all feel this way at times. That we all feel not good enough at times and that most importantly, we are always divinely supported by the universe. Trust is the biggest lesson Iโve learned along the way. To trust the process. To trust my higher self. To trust that I am always divinely led. To trust that I must surrender in order to be led.
What motivates you most?
My morning spiritual and gratitude practice. When I get still and listen, inspiration, motivation, and insights come my way easily.
How do you manage your work-life balance?
My morning practice! The only time I can have to myself is before my family wakes up so I get up 45 min before my kids to meditate, pray and fill out my gratitude journal.ย I also use this time to set my intentions and to do/to be list for my day ahead.
What do you do on a daily basis to grow and move forward?
I work out regularly
And I share my life lessons on my blog and on social media regularly
I use positive affirmations either on post it notes on my mirror or on my phone so Iโm repeating my affirmations regularly throughout the day
I set goals for myself and what I want to accomplish by the end of each month, quarter, and year
I focus on the feeling of the person I want to become and I easily forgive myself when I mess up
Do you have a mentor? If so, what did they teach you?
Iโve had numerous mentors along my journey from teachers, healers, coaches, therapists, books, courses and workshops. I donโt have just one person or thing but collectively the message Iโve learned from all these sources has been the same:ย they taught me that I am enough because I am a child of the universe. That because I am born, I am worthy.
What is one thing people would be surprised to hear about you?
That I still get sad over past events and that I cry very easily
If you werenโt doing the job you have now, what would you be doing?
Interviewing people, I love people and I love uncovering who they really are on the inside!
Who is your biggest role model? Why?
Oprah Winfrey because she overcame the odds and adversity to create an empire but more importantly, to touch, move and inspire others through her work!
Where do you find inspiration?
Inspiration instagram accounts, books, and journalling
What are your biggest passions?
Helping people, especially women and girls to heal themselves, to love themselves, to trust themselves and to feel like that can do anything and be anything- because they can!
