Introduce yourself! Who are you?
I’m Elizsabeth 🙂 I’m a US-born, UK-bred music artist & songwriter making music that sparks love and self-empowerment. On the journey of finding my voice and what I wanted to say, I found that it was intrinsically connected to my self worth and the way I saw who I was. This journey has helped me grow and remember who I really am. I’d like to pass that self love and empowerment on in whatever way I can.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
There’s only one of you which means everything you express from your heart is only something you can give to the world. Which means there doesn’t have to be any pressure or competition and we can just enjoy the beautiful process of what magic we want to create and witness the magic others create with love.
What would you say to 16 year old you?
Be much kinder to yourself, relax and flow with life. Be unapologetically you, you won’t want to fight with life so much. Everything’s going to be more than ok. And most importantly, what I wish I said the most to myself; I love you.
What inspired you to follow your passion with music?
I always felt I could be my true self on stage or whenever I made music, it felt and still feels like home. And when I express myself through music I get to really connect to people. I could see it gave people peace and joy sometimes when they needed it most, and the moment I realised that there was no going back. I found what filled my soul.
What message do you think every woman should hear?
There’s a balance we’re still trying to find in this world as women. We’ve been taught to grow with limits, hiding ourselves, constantly trying to change and “perfect” ourselves to a specific standard, preventing our true selves from gloriously shining. But we were born to embrace every part of ourselves and break down all the walls that were illusions built to make us believe we were much smaller than we truly are. Let’s empower ourselves and each other and continue to break our own walls down which in turn will break down society’s double standards so that future generations don’t have to even question their worth as women. We are powerful and we are strong. We are magic, we are love. And it’s time we treat each other and ourselves that way without anymore doubt.
Have you always had confidence in yourself?
Definitely not. I don’t actually remember being confident when I was younger after the age of 7. I suddenly went from being bubbly and extroverted kid to a very shy introvert that was constantly questioning herself and desperately trying to change herself, feeling unloved and not enough. It was only starting this journey with my music that my confidence has drastically increased. It still comes in waves as I still have confidence triggers I’m letting go of, but it’s become increasingly easier to be confident in myself ever since the realisation, awareness and the hallelujah that is stopping caring what people think of me more and more. I stopped comparing myself to others and realised I can’t actually do that when there’s no one like me and every person is truly unique. And being more grateful than I’ve ever been for myself and my life has allowed me to focus on what’s important and focussing my energy on what gives me joy. Recognising I have an inner child and an inner queen. That I am enough because I am me.
What do you love most about yourself?
My kind nature and my intuition.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned along the way?
Being present. Anything is possible if we believe it to be. This life is transient, an experience and a gift. And love is really all that matters in the end. Love makes life beautiful, worth living, full of miracles, magic and possibilities. And being present in that truth transformed the way I see my life and my reason for being. Discovering I have the opportunity to choose love in every moment has been the ultimate freedom.
What do you do on a daily basis to grow and move forward?
Every morning I read myself intuitively with my oracle cards for my messages of the day, and that clears any negativity and gets me back in alignment with myself setting the tone for my day with love, hope and welcoming the lessons, magic and miracles the universe has for me for the day.
How do you manage your work-life balance?
I make lists and plans and schedules but don’t attach to any of it, and make sure it’s always flexible. Going with the flow of each day at a time and trying to be present in everything I do (which is still a practice) allows me to find that balance. My mind often got in the way and made me stress much more than ever necessary because I wasn’t ever in the present moment, I was worrying about the past and/or the future and it was only when I learnt to continually choose to let go of those worries and choose to believe everything was going to work out, that it actually did.
What motivates you most?
Helping people love themselves and recognise their extraordinary worth so they can feel peace again. Helping them see the glorious powerful beings they are. That they can enjoy life no matter what their past has been because anything is possible if we believe it.
And trusting the bigger picture, trusting my soul knows the way and I can flow through life growing and coming back to myself more and more, enjoying the ride and the blessings that come with it.
