Choosing Perspective

with Amber L'Estrange

Introduce yourself! Who are you?
Hi, I’m Amber, an Australian, L.A based curly haired girl who loves adventures and using life’s challenges as my greatest opportunity for growth.

I am the co host/co-creator of the podcast “The Mother Loving Future” show which was birthed out of the burning desire to include others in conversations that elevate our mind, bodies and spirits. We believe that if we can raise our vibration as a collective we can change the world in all the best ways and offer our children a more hopeful future.

I have a Holistic Health Coaching practice dedicated to the knowing that we all can heal ourselves into vital well being with the right mindset, resources and guidance.

I have a 4 year old son, Valentine who is my world, along with my huzzy and life ally, Cary.

What is one thing no one knows about you?
Nothing really!! I love sharing my stories and am as transparent as they come so my life is pretty much an open book…

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Choose a man for your life partner that you watch walk into the room and admire and are proud of who they are separately from how they make you feel or their place in your life.

What would you say to your 16 year old self?
When heart aches find you, the most powerful way to deal with it is to allow yourself to FEEL it rather then move away or distract yourself. Don’t be afraid to catch feels 😉

What is your greatest fear?
That I won’t get to see all the best nooks and crannies of this diverse and magical world before I die.

What message do you think every woman should hear?
SELF LOVE is the gateway to everything your heart desires. There is no better investment than that of your inner world.

What is your favorite thing about where you live?
L.A is brimming with creative energy that feeds my heart. I love how this city is the mecca of holistic/alternative health, wellness and spiritual paths. I love how open and ready people are to explore something new and push themselves beyond their comfort zone. I love the extreme dualities of this city the people and cultural pockets are all so different and shamelessly themselves.

What do you love most about yourself?
I love my fearlessness. I get excited to mix life up and move toward the unknown.

What’s the biggest thing you’ve learned along the way?
To trust in a higher power, it makes everything make more sense 😉

Why do you love to travel?
I love expanding my mind and heart and feeling into the many diverse and raw expressions of being human. I love learning more about our earth and how we, as humans channel our creative energy.

What motivates you most?
My son and wanting to do all I can to ensure he has a great life. As strange as it sounds, I find inspiration in the consistent pressing urgency I feel around the dire state of our social/environmental/political state we have gotten ourselves into. The realization that we are destroying each other and the planet can be so overwhelming that it lights a fire under my butt to do all I can to fight for a new way and a better world. I like to turn my fear about our future into motivation to make a difference and represent our potential as a race.

How do you manage your work/life balance?
Make sure I schedule in “out of the city nature adventures” wherever I can. I am working on slowing my daily pace to weave a more present and relaxed thread through my weeks. Trying to keep things simple, focused and at a sustainable pace helps me keep my daily actions in alignment with my true priorities.

What is your favorite meal?
This depends on the season and what my body is needing in the moment so it changes often!! Currently I am loving warm roasted yams, brown rice, deep greens and a slow organic roast.

What you do on a daily basis to grow and move forward?
My main tool to keep me growing in the right direction is living from the heart and allowing my intuition to serve as a compass, guiding me through life.

I make sure my daily actions are matching up with my life goals!

Each week I take life inventory and assess my weekly commitments to make sure they are supporting balance and energy across all my priorities of health, happiness, being a great wife, mother, friend and making a positive difference in the world with my work.

Other tools I use to keep me on the right track are:
yoga, food as medicine (always organic and high vibe), keeping a light mindset (opposed to too serious ;), conscious communication and Self awareness. I also try to incorporate a daily gratitude practice- write in my journal each day and share what we are grateful for over every meal.

I try to move through life with the frame work of “I am the creator of my experience” and every thought/action I choose weaves my life into reality. This keeps me on track to carving a conscious experience rather than being a victim to my inherited or habitual ways.

Choosing this perspective also makes turning breakdowns into breakthroughs a breeze which is the ultimate freeing place to be existing from.

What is one thing people would be surprised to hear from you?
I’m actually a phoney Australian. Although I had spent my formative years in Australia (6-25 years old) I was actually born in South Africa and have zero Ozzy blood in me, haha.

If you weren’t dong the job you were doing now what would you be doing?
Traveling the world as a host on some extreme nature adventure show. Or a taste tester perhaps 😉

What is something on your bucket list?
A horse riding trek through the Indies. A 14 day grand canyon white river rafting/camping trip. And a sailing trip across the ocean would be great too.

Have you ever had an extraordinary experience?
Simply being alive having this human experience is extraordinary.. Giving birth and transitioning into motherhood has been a big big thing for me. Dying to my old self and embracing/reinventing parts of my identity has been very healing, hard and liberating.

Where do you find inspiration?
Motherhood. Each day I am asked to expand my love, patience and intuition. Personal relationships are also a well of inspiration as I choose to use them as mirrors and a self development tool.

What are your biggest passions?
Transformation
Motherhood
Nature
Relationships
