There is Enough Room For You at the Table
Alyssa Cowart
Introduce yourself! Who are you?
Hey, Im Alyssa Cowart, wife, boy mom, podcaster, coach, and all around entrepreneur. I have a passion for health and wellness and helping others transform and live a happy life. I love traveling and my job has allowed me to see lots of amazing places.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
From my attorney grandfather, “Don’t talk politics or religion”, it’s worked well for me.
What message do you think every woman should hear?
There is enough room for you at the table. I think many women think, “oh she is already doing that, I cant”, but you can! There is so much room, do not set your dream aside because someone else is “already doing it”. Write that book, start that podcast, do that coaching series, do it, “they” might be doing it but they aren’t YOU!
Do you remember a specific time you overcame adversity?
Being a teen mom, I had my son when I was 15 years old. I had so many people doubt me and my decision to keep him and stay in school. I’m happy to say he’s perfect and will be graduating high school in May.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned along the way?
That everyone isn’t going to like you and that’s ok, they aren’t your people anyways.
What would you say to 16 year old you?
You did the right thing, keep working hard, it will be worth it.
What do you love most about yourself?
I am organized and self motivated.
Did you always know what you wanted to do in life (career, passions, hobbies, etc)?
Heck no, I had no idea. I knew I wanted to be a BOSS, work with people, and making a lot of money wouldn’t hurt either.
Were you scared to start the process?
Of course, like everyone, I was scared to fail.
Have you ever had anyone doubt you?
I think I have had a lot of people doubt me. I have had a few top leadership roles in my career with lots of eyes on me just watching and waiting for failure.
How did that make you feel?
It motivates me to work harder so truly, I appreciate my “haters”.
Have you always had confidence in yourself?
For the most part yes, I can tell you I was born with a fire in my soul that said, no matter what you can do this. I know I’m not perfect by any means but confidence is something I rarely lack. It’s not always easy, especially in today’s society.
What do you do on a daily basis to grow and move forward?
Plan and show up daily! I know that sounds silly but in a social media based business/ leadership role consistency is key.
Besides your career, what do you want people to know about you?
I knew that once I was blessed financially that I was blessed to be a blessing to others, so that has been my goal. It’s so important to me to keep blessing others. My husband and I have had the honor to help and aid in hurricane relief. It felt so good to go to Sams Club and just load up on supplies with cost being no issue. Along with hurricane relief we have been able to donate to our church and countless other organizations. Whatever capacity you have, I encourage you to get involved and help in the community with things that are dear to your heart.
What gets you up in the morning?
The gym, self care is so important to me, that’s how I try and start each day. It gets my energy up early and going all day.
Is there anyone that helps keep you motivated throughout your journey?
My leadership team, they keep me going and motivated on the days that I just don’t feel like it. I know that someone is counting on me to show up for the day.
