Hi! I am Teagan! I am a single mom to a sweet toddler, and a business owner. I love all things Dr Pepper, chocolate and dance parties. I want to do everything that i can to help impact businesses reach, especially female business owners. If you don't find me working - you will find me nose deep in a book, watching a movie or planning my next trip.
Who would you say is your #1 inspiration?
I would have to say my Dad. He taught me to be a hard working person, to push until you get what you wanted. That you give all you can to people and be a kind person at all times. To be happy because it is a choice.
What is one thing no one really knows about you?
Hmmm I would say that I am terrified of balloons. Yes I know it is an irrational fear, but none the less..
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Never quit, just learn how to rest.
What would you say to 16 year old you?
Don't believe a word that people tell you about your future and your success. They have no place in it, only you can create the life you want.
What’s your dream job?
My current job! I love love love to be able to work and impact other people's lives and businesses.
Have you ever had anyone doubt you? How did that make you feel?
I did. I had one of my managers tell me straight to my face that I would never be a leader. At first I was crushed, I felt awful. Then I decided that I was going to prove her wrong, and here I am with my business.
What message do you think every woman should hear?
You can do ANYTHING you want to. Just map a plan and work for it.
I love that I am close to a whole circle of amazing women. I am also blessed to be near family and friends.
What do you love most about yourself?
I would have to say my fun side. I love having dance parties and making others happy.
Do you remember a specific time you overcame adversity?
I remember working at a job I didn't like. It was too hard for me to stomach most days. So I decided to change things. I started working a side hustle - which is now my business - and did that until the side hustle made more than the job. It took 6 days.
What motivates you most?
Ironically to show people who doubted me, hurt me and casted me out as a failure wrong. I want them to look at me and wish they hadn't said those things.
What do you consider to be your greatest achievement?
My son. We are working so so hard to expand his mind, teach him manners, to help him learn to love.
I have my goals taped to my bathroom mirror. Every day while I am in the shower I read them and say them out loud.
What is one thing people would be surprised to hear about you?
That I have a notebook for everything. I have one with my schedule and to do lists, one for inspirations, one for books..
If you weren’t blogging, what would you be doing?
Traveling. I love seeing the world and the cultures around it.
What is something on your bucket list?
I want to see all of Italy
What are your biggest passions?
I love sweatpants. I have a deep seeded love with them. I love Dr Pepper and drink it on the daily. I love to travel and immerse myself in the cultures around me. I love museums and seeing the history of that country. But my biggest passion would be my son and impacting lives of others. I want people to feel as good as I do.
What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
I was pregnant with my little. I knew that I wanted to be a stay at home mom and watch him grow and do all those fun things life has to offer. So I decided to start so I could be there for all those moments.
For sure would be finding leads. I do my best to give valuable information and that works great, but I often it doesn't 100% convert. I overcame that by just learning to accept the word no. That it wasn't a horrid thing, that it just got me one step closer to a yes.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
I listen to podcasts, I workout and I spend time with my little. There is always gonna be a mess, so find a way to be amazing and ok with it.
What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
There are always going to be haters, those that have doubts and will talk you down. Do not listen to them. You are amazing and so is your idea, go until you show the world just how amazing you are.
What are your favorite business tools/resources and why?
I love google sheets and planoly. It helps me keep my content planned and ready for the following weeks.
What are you currently learning about for your business?
I am learning how social media is like an organism and it's changing and evolving.
What were you doing before this, and is this your first business?
I worked in the marketing department for a company. It taught me a bunch. This is my first business.
How did you come up with the idea?
I saw a gap for small business owners. A lot of them needed marketing and to grow and expand their reach, but that was a task they either neglected or weren't good at. By doing this I was able to allow them to do what they do best. Their business.
Are there any specific advantages or disadvantages to being a women business owner?
There are always those. Advantages, I am more compassionate and emotionally connected to my clients. I get into their personal life, their business and want to help where I can. Disadvantages, I would say that you have to work a little harder. You often have other things on your plate like kids, or your house.
Is there anything you wish you had done differently?
I wish I would have started earlier. A big thing was I was afraid to do it cause it wasn't perfect yet. But the thing is... done is better than perfect.
How many days do you work per week?
I work every single day. It is the best.
What was the most challenging moment in your entrepreneurial journey thus far?
Having dips and scrambling to expand enough that I can keep going.
What is something you struggle with?
I am not great with time management. I get sucked into work and have a hard time coming out.
How do you achieve work-life balance?
I spend my days full. Whenever my kid wants me, I pause what I am doing and play. After he goes to bed around 8, I bunker down and work HARD.
What is your greatest fear?
That I will not be a success like I want.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Gaining sponsorships with a few amazing companies
What do you aspire to be professionally?
I want to be a high powered CEO that can show those little girls, women and ladies out there that we can do anything we want.
If you could go back in time to the first day of your startup, what would you communicate to yourself?
To work hard. To do what you can when you can. It is an uphill battle for the first little while. But once you get into the groove it will come smoother and smoother.
Where do you plan on taking your business?
I want it to be a corporation that helps small businesses, especially women owned and run. We have a harder start out the gate, but not impossible.
