Introduce yourself! Who are you?
My name is Andrea Lisbona from Barcelona. I founded my first company at 24 years old & launched Touchland on 2016 to revolutionize the world of personal care & hand hygiene.
What is one thing no one really knows about you?
I did judo for 10 years and I am a black belt! Surprised right?
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Persevere, work hard and do not take a no for an answer. Life is what you make of it.
What would you say to 16 year old you?
Follow your instinct, it will never fail you. Listen to the people that really cares about you and dream big.
What is your greatest fear?
I guess the one thing we can not control: sickness. The rest it's in your hands. You have to appreciate every day with health as it's the greatest wealth everyone have.
Have you ever had anyone doubt you? How did that make you feel?
Of course, I am very ambitious and young so of course many people has doubted me, but that was also something that really motivates me, to prove them wrong.
What message do you think every woman should hear?
To forget your gender when pursuing your dream, you are a person and you are as capable than any other person (men or women) to achieve your dreams if you work hard & smart.
What is your favorite thing about where you live?
Now that I am moving to NY, my favorite spot is a sunset at Battery Park.
What do you love most about yourself?
The values my family taught me. That's what defines you at the end of the day and every decision you take that affect other people.
Do you remember a specific time you overcame adversity?
In a startup, you face many adversities, specially when there's issues that are not under your control. It's all about not giving up & standing up again. After the rain, always shows up the sun.
What is the biggest thing you’ve learned along the way?
To think long term. You need to select your partners / investors / team members with the same seriousness as you'd take a marriage. You need to ensure when you pick someone that this is the partner you want in long term.
Why do you love to travel?
Because you learn about diversity, you open your mind and discover that you are a very tiny piece in an enormous puzzle. I love discovering different cultures, food, places, traditions and specially people.
What motivates you most?
To make an impact in the world. We only live once so while we are here, there's nothing more motivating than creating solutions that improve everyone's life.
How do you manage your work-life balance?
Good, I love my family & I think it's very important that when I am with them, I am "fully" with them (not checking emails or picking up work calls). So I do my best to disconnect from work when I am with them & cherish those moments. Obviously running a company requires most of your time & I love my work, but it's also important to dedicate time to yourself not to turn crazy.
What is your favorite meal?
Pasta with all the different italian sauces. I eat once a day pasta!
What do you do on a daily basis to grow and move forward?
Listen, take decisions and learn.
What is one thing people would be surprised to hear about you?
I love singing, not only on the shower, but I also sang in front of 2000 people at 18.
If you weren’t doing the job you have now, what would you be doing?
I would like also to help other startups after everything I learned (investment, supply chain, marketing, pr, etc). I would like to use my experience to help other entrepreneurs make their dreams come true.
What is something on your bucket list?
Have you ever had an extraordinary experience? Describe it!
Yes, the day we presented our first product line in front of 300 people in a big conference room. It was a dream come true. All the hard work that took us to develop the products, the sleepless nights, the adversities.. all of them disappeared the moment I stepped on the stage, took the microphone & started unveiling all the new innovations. That was one of the best days of my life.
Where do you find inspiration?
Everywhere. Specially from people, their stories.
What are your biggest passions?
Travel, Music &... My dogs! I would have hundreds of dogs if I could.
