With Kahle Bontjes

Introduce yourself! Who are you?
I am Kahle (Kay-Lee) Bontjes. I am coach, space clearer and psychic medium. I am also a step mamma, a partner, a runner, and music lover.

Who would you say is your #1 inspiration?
My #1 inspiration is Oprah. She has overcome so many things in her life and found grace in each of her experiences. I love what she has created and the messages that she shares with the world.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I’ve ever received was don’t stay in the energy of your traumatic event. For example, if you were assaulted, don’t stay in that energy. Get that energy out of your body.

What would you say to 16 year old you?
There is nothing wrong with you. You are beautiful, appreciated and wanted exactly as you are.

What’s your dream job?
I have my dream job. It’s working with Spirit and women every single day, in my business.

What message do you think every woman should hear?
You are enough. Exactly as you are today. You are enough.

What is your favorite thing about where you live?
I can see the stars at night, view the eagles flying in the sky, and it’s peaceful. It’s so connected to nature and it’s healing for me.

What do you love most about yourself?
I love my faith and my intuition. I haven’t always allowed them to serve me, but they have never left me. My faith and intuition are my strongest sense of support and strength.

What do you consider to be your greatest achievement?
I think the day I choose to share my story was. It’s not easy telling your story. Once I told my story, I began to embrace it, piece by piece. It took guts and empowerment to share. I’m proud of myself. So many people live in fear of who they really are or what they experience.

What do you do on a daily basis to grow and move forward?
Maintain my energy by connecting to Spirit and the Angels
Always. Every. Single. Day.

What is something on your bucket list?
To be on Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday

What are your biggest passions?
Space Clearing
Music
Love
Nature
Women’s Rights
Education

What motivated and inspired you to start your own business?
When I moved in with my partner and his children, it became very clear to me that my workplace was not conducive to parents nor did they consider me one. I got burnt out very quickly as I was trying to adjust to being a step mom, having an instant family, maintaining a job and honoring my gifts. The wake up call for me was in a 1:1 with my former boss. He told me I had to choose between leaving work to be at a school event for my step son or, risk my job. I saw the his departed loved one behind him, making silly faces at me.  I knew that my life in a 9-5 gig was over.

What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs?
Have a coach. My coach has been fundamental in my growth and success. If you’re not an expert- hire one.

What were you doing before this, and is this your first business?
Before my business, I was a health insurance underwriter. This is my first business.

How did you come up with the idea?
This was very Spirit led. I was out running and Spirit told me it was time to start my business, gave me the name, and told me what I was going to do.

Are there any specific advantages or disadvantages to being a women business owner?
There are more advantages then we give ourselves credit for. We have an ability to feel and embrace our energy deeply, that is one of our greatest assets.

How many days do you work per week?
Each week is slightly different. I intuitively plan.  Some weeks I work 7 days, some are 2. I always have 3 consistent days for my clients to book their sessions.

What was the most challenging moment in your entrepreneurial journey thus far?
It was very challenging to merge my personal life. We were used to a bi weekly pay period, pto and benefits. It took major leaps of faith between my partner and I, and deep inner work on myself to allow my business to become success. I had to learn how to find harmony, ask for help, and adjust our lifestyle. We both agree it was the best decision we ever made. Our kids love it. Our family has more freedom. I get to do what I love every single day. My relationship has transformed.

How do you achieve work-life balance?
I don’t. I do create harmony. Balance seems like to much strain and it can feel unattainable to me. I know how to create harmony. I assert my needs clearly to my family and myself. I also ask for help. Lots of it.

If you could go back in time to the first day of your startup, what would you communicate to yourself?
I would tell myself, to trust my gut, and stay in my power. My first attempt did not work out but it didn’t work out because I gave someone else my power. I gave up my dreams and what felt right with me so I could be apart of someone else’s business concept. It was costly emotionally, financially and personally. It also was a powerful lesson to stop giving my power away.

Where do you plan on taking your business?
To the very top. I am excited to create an empire where all women can be connected, empowered and supported.
I have been blessed to know fearless, smart, beautiful women in my life. I had Grandmothers who supported my dreams. My mom cheerleads me and supports me in any way she can. I have a daughter who inspires me and teaches me every day.

My “step” kids have taught me the most about unconditional love, because they love me unconditionally even though we are not blood. I did not give birth to them, but our souls are connected. They choose to love me. That has changed my life and my heart, for better.  It has shown me how that I am worthy to receive all the love this world has to offer.
